Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League opening game against Newcastle United.

Pochettino spoke of his side’s lack of transfer activity as they remain the only Premier League club not to have made any signings over this transfer window.

The 46-year-old admitted he is happy with his side although there will be some travelling to Newcastle who are not fit enough to start.

It is expected some of Tottenham’s World Cup stars who only returned to training on Monday 6 August will only make the bench on Saturday after their prolonged summer break.

Pochettino also ranted following the criticism the club has received following their lack of transfer activity.

Spurs have been publically criticised but the Argentine coach remained positive, highlighting the fact Harry Kane has recently signed a new long-term contract with the club, among others.

  1. How can the fans have faith in a squad that contains sissoko Carter Vickers and lorente. Which he will probably give game time in the domestic cups and the finals. bang goes the chance of silverware there.
If poch thinks he gonna win the league snd champions league, He’s gonna taking micky out of every football loving spurs fan. Sell sissoko and lorente and we might stand a chance in the domestic cups.
    Levy your a proper mincer.
Rather than 30.000 fans screaming your c…! It’s gonna be 62.000 welldone.

  2. It’s an appalling stance for them to take and a real slap in the face for the fans. They’ve done this to themselves and this team has cut short the rope that they will hang on. There is no rational argument for not improving unless you are truly just about money. This club will not win any cups and will not end up Top 4. Europa league games in an €850b stadium……amazing

  3. everybody calm down. THFC has a very strong squad with a number of excellent players tied into contracts long term. Also the 3 supposed leavers (TobyA, MousaD, DannyR) seem to be there still. See how things are on 31 Oct I reckon. coys

  4. I quite disagree with both the above regarding winning something this season but the players mentioned should have been sold, not good enough. We have a stable, solid unit players that will peak this year in Moura, Lamela, Winks etc…. it’s good that we not intergrating new players, Poch does not like bringing new in to play his way and his system so he gives them time. I’m as excited for this season like I have been for the last three and the happiest I have been for the last 45. COYS!
