Video: Watch Tottenham’s Dane Scarlett score twice in England U-19s win

Dane Scarlett netted both goals as England Under-19s overcame Portugal 2-0 on Tuesday.

Scarlett has already made a few first-team appearances off the bench for Tottenham this season, with the 18-year-old even being named on the bench by Antonio Conte in Spurs’ 3-1 win over West Ham last Sunday.

The Spurs boss admitted after the game that the teenager is showing a lot of improvement and insisted that the striker is ‘a really important prospect’ for the club (Football.London).

The 18-year-old has certainly demonstrated over the course of the international break just why he is so highly rated at Spurs.

The teenager found the back of the net last week as England Under-19s overcame Ireland 3-1.

Both Scarlett and Alfie Devine keep their place in the starting lineup against Portugal and the Spurs forward did not take long to make an impact, opening the scoring just 10 minutes into Tuesday’s encounter.

Scarlett then stepped up to thrash home a penalty in the 40th minute to put the game beyond Portugal. You can check out his goals in the video below:

The way Troy Parrot and Dane Scarlett have performed during the international break is a huge positive for Spurs as both players have shown that they can handle the spotlight.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs decide to loan Scarlett out next season or if the club want him to continue his development under the watchful eyes of the coaches in North London.
