Video: “We left it late, but it’s the same three points!” – Spur reacts to win

Jan Vertonghen has been aside from Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur’s most consistent player over recent seasons.

The Belgian was named in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up at left-back for yesterday’s visit of Newcastle United at Wembley, with Danny Rose dropping down to the bench.

Vertonghen played 78 minutes on the left flank, before Mauricio Pochettino made a tactical change and went to a back three which saw Erik Lamela make way for Danny Rose and Vertonghen dropping into the more familiar surroundings of centre back.

He spoke to Spurs TV after the match and admitted that winning the last three Premier League matches in such a late fashion has been massive.
