Tottenham Hotspur embarked on their first ever Champions League semi-final last night against overachieving, young, and vibrant Ajax.
However, the North London side failed to make the most of their home advantage, gifting the visitors a goal inside the first 15 minutes.
Despite Spurs taking a firmer grip of the game in the second half, they still only managed one meaningful shot on target, as Dele Alli lashed an effort straight at the keeper.
Spurs will now have to travel away to Ajax and pick up a win if they are to have any hope of qualification.
Any win for Tottenham in which they score two or more goals will see them progress to play either Barcelona or Liverpool in the Champions League final.
They will need to up their game head and shoulders above the level they competed at last night if they are to stand any chance of making the Madrid final though.
Christian Eriksen, who had a rather poor game himself, has stated that Spurs made Ajax look a lot better than they are (BT Sport).
