Sky Sports have reported that Spurs are now close to signing Gedson Fernandes on loan from Benfica for the next 18-months, with the deal set to be finalised next week.
This comes after central midfielder, Moussa Sissoko, had to have surgery on his knee following an injury he picked up against Southampton in the Premier League.
O Jogo report that the Fernandes loan will include a purchase option of anywhere up to €50m, while the 18-month loan will cost Tottenham €4.5m.
