There will likely have been many more players who returned but were not captured on the footage including the likes of Eric Dier, Harvey White Brandon Austin and some of the club’s young talent such as Matthew Craig.

The first day or two of pre-season is normally spent undertaking fitness tests on the players to check on their condition following their time off.

While it was encouraging to see Bentancur present, due to the nature of his knee injury he is still undertaking his rehabilitation ahead of returning to first-team action by November.
