Video: ‘With the form I’m in’ – Harry Kane makes confident goal prediction

Harry Kane has admitted that he is keen to overtake Alan Shearer’s record and become the top goalscorer in Premier League history.

After converting a penalty at Old Trafford on Saturday, Kane moved up to joint fifth in the Premier League all-time goals charts, with 177 strikes to his name (Premierleague.com).

Only Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, Andy Cole and Sergio Aguero have scored more goals than the Tottenham man and Kane has not hidden his desire to overtake Shearer’s tally of 260 strikes.

The Tottenham man said that the record is not in the forefront of his mind going into matches but he admitted it is an ambition that drives him on, and one he deems to be ‘reachable’.

I do not think there is any doubt that Kane will beat Shearer’s record barring a major injury. The England captain does not rely on his pace or athleticism, which means that he will likely continue to find the back of the net until his late 30s, much like Lewandowski.
