Video: “You’re not a good manager” – Ian Holloway delivers scathing verdict on Pochettino

It looks like Tottenham might have to wait for at least another season to break their trophy drought after their losses against Burnley and Chelsea effectively ruled them out of the title race.

Pochettino who is into his fifth season at Tottenham is yet to win any silverware despite going close on several occasions.

The Tottenham manager said after the Burnley game that Spurs might have to wait for another 10 years before they win a league title, a claim that left many people perplexed.

After Tottenham went out of the FA Cup against Crystal Palace earlier in the season, the Argentine claimed that winning domestic cup competitions was only useful to build egos and wasn’t going to help the club progress.

Former Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has now delivered a scathing verdict on Pochettino, saying that he cannot be classed as a good manager unless he wins a trophy.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Holloway said, “They lose 2-1 to Burnley, then they lose to Chelsea. The best managers win those games. He hasn’t won and it must be getting to him. Winning things is for people with egos – what’s he going to tell his chairman?”

“At the end of the day, you can produce the best players in the world. But if you haven’t got any wins on your CV then you’re not a good manager.”
