Video: Ex-Premier League ref has his say on whether Dele’s goal should have stood

Tottenham Hotspur’s blushes were saved by Dele Alli against Watford this weekend when the England man netted an equaliser in the dying minutes at home to the bottom-placed side in the Premier League.

However, the goal was contentious, as there was VAR confusion over whether it had been seen as a handball or not.

Despite the VAR board stating it was ‘no goal’, the referee eventually pointed to the centre spot to indicate that it was to stand to rob Watford of what would have been a deserved win.

Ex-Premier League referee, Dermot Gallagher, now claims that the officials were right as the ball seemed to come off Dele’s chest, rather than his arm before he finished well from a tight angle beyond Ben Foster.
