‘Villa, Everton maybe’ – Journalist predicts clubs ‘will be after’ Spurs man in January

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge believes that multiple Premier League clubs are likely to show interest in snapping up Dele Alli from Tottenham in January.

Alli’s only start since Antonio Conte’s arrival at Tottenham came in the club’s 2-1 defeat to NS Mura in the Europa Conference League last month.

Conte has spoken in glowing terms about the midfielder’s talent and it has been reported that the 25-year-old is desperate to resurrect his Spurs career under the Italian.

However, the former MK Dons man faces an uphill battle to force himself into the starting eleven, with the new Spurs boss seeming to have already settled on his preferred front three and midfield pairing.

Two weeks ago, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold named Alli along with Harry Winks and Joe Rodon as three players who could potentially be on the move in January. Bridge believes the Spurs midfielder is likely to be a wanted man next month.

When asked about Alli, the journalist told Give Me Sport: “I still think clubs will be after him, I really do.

“Villa, Everton maybe, it’s Dele Alli for goodness’ sake.

“There must be one manager like Steven Gerrard [who will say] ‘I can get this guy firing again. I know I can.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that there will be plenty of interest in Alli if Spurs do decide they want to move him on.

However, we would have likely been able to get a much bigger transfer fee for the 25-year-old had we moved him on a couple of transfer windows ago.

His value has dropped significantly over the last two years and so, I do not see him fetching a big fee in January.
