Aston Villa are ready to make a move for Tottenham right-back Alan Hutton.
Hutton is expected to leave Spurs this summer with Kyle Walker and Vedran Corluka ahead of him in Harry Redknapp’s defensive plans.
New Villa boss Alex McLeish was in charge of Rangers while Hutton was playing for the Scottish champions and is ready to take him to Villa Park in a deal worth around £4million.
Hutton has had his fair share of injuries and problems at Spurs and would welcome the chance of regular first-team football again. Towards the end of last season Villa had another Spurs player operating at right-back in the form of Kyle Walker who did a solid job on loan, which earned him a call-up to train with the full England squad. He is expected to be Tottenham’s first choice this season.
