‘Wait and see’ – Team-mate admits rumoured Spurs target could leave

Porto striker, Mehdi Taremi, has admitted that he is unsure whether his team-mate, Sergio Oliveira, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, will still be at the club next season.

Oliveria has shone for Porto over the last two seasons and is coming off arguably the best campaign of his career, registering 13 goals in 31 league appearances and five in eight in the Champions League (Transfermarkt).

The 29-year-old featured twice off the bench for Portugal in their European Championship campaign.

Record reported last month Oliveira was hoping to complete a move to Spurs after his proposed transfer to Fiorentina fell through.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs will make a move for the Porto star but the central midfield area is said to be a priority for the club to strengthen this summer, with question marks over the futures of both Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks.

Taremi admitted that he does not know what the future holds for his friend Oliveira.

The Iranian international told TVI24 regarding the rumoured Spurs target: “Sergio Oliveira is one of my good friends in Porto.

“It’s still not sure if he stays or leaves. We have to wait and see what happens to him and even to me.”

Since Gattuso parted ways with Fiorentina and was being linked with a move to Spurs last month, I suspect Record just made a connection and suggested that Oliveira could follow the Italian to Spurs. I doubt if the Porto star is on Fabio Paratici’s wishlist.
