‘Wait is finally over’ – Destiny Udogie is excited to get started at Tottenham 

Destiny Udogie has taken to social media to admit his excitement at the start of a new adventure at Tottenham Hotspur.

Udogie linked up with the Tottenham squad on Wednesday along with the other international stars, and he will be hoping to impress Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff during the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and Asia.

There is perhaps a question mark over whether he is a good fit for the Australian’s system, with the Italy Under-21 international having played almost exclusively as a wing-back in his two seasons with Udinese’s first-team.

However, his agent Stefano Antonelli told Sky Sport Italia (as relayed by Football Italia) earlier this month that Postecoglou is convinced the 20-year-old can play as a left-back in a 4-3-3.

Udogie had a disappointing summer as Italy were knocked out of the group stage in the European Under-21 Championship but the youngster appears to be in a good mood ahead of the new campaign.

Udogie is quite versatile and seems to have all the attributes to adapt to the demands of the inverted full-back role. I have a feeling that Postecgolou will enjoy the challenge of moulding the youngster according to the needs of his system.
