Our midfield powerhouse Victor Wanyama brought music to every Spurs fans ears when he revealed that he is closing in on a return to the first team team after missing virtually the entire season so far.

The central midfielder has been sidelined since breaking down with a knee injury in our Premier League defeat to Chelsea on 20 August.

Mauricio Pochettino recently explained that Wanyama should soon be in contention for selection, and now the player has added that with his first interview to confirm he is on the comeback path.

“I feel so so fine and on the road to full fitness,” Wanyama told African football site Soka 25 East. “I am almost back and its exciting after missing most of the season.

Wanyama added: “As a footballer an injury is always a low moment but I am glad its now behind me and just counting the days. I have really missed playing competitive football.”

Terrific to hear from big Vic, he was vital last year and has been sorely missed. Big news
