Tottenham have already invested heavily in their midfield this summer with the signings of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and Jack Clarke from Leeds, and recent reports indicate that more midfielders are expected to follow suit before the new season (Mirror).
This leaves Spurs with an assortment of talented central midfielders, from Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, and Victor Wanyama to Eric Dier and Oliver Skipp.
It looks like Wanyama is the odd man out in that list as Turkish newspaper, Fotomac (via Sport Witness) reported recently that Fenerbahce are close to signing the Spurs midfielder on a season-long loan deal.
The Kenyan international previously claimed he intends to stay at the club, but admitted that anything can happen (ESPN).
However, some Spurs fans on social media questioned the wisdom behind loaning out the 28-year-old and instead urged the club to sell him permanently.
Get him sold, clearly need funds for Sessegnon, Dybala and lo celso

Loan is a waste of time. Unlikely to play regularly but if not selling then Wanyama still has something to offer.

Spurs Web Opinion
It is clear that at least one of the central midfielders in the squad need to be moved out this summer and it is looking like Wanyama is the most likely one to leave. We believe a loan deal makes perfect sense for Tottenham as if the 28-year-old gets regular game time with the Turkish club, his value has the potential to increase.
