Some Spurs fans on social media have been left divided over whether or not loaning out Ryan Sessegnon would be in the club’s best interest next season.
After showing glimpses of his undoubted potential during his first taste of the English top-flight with Fulham during the 2018/19 season, Sessegnon was snapped up by Spurs in a deal worth £25 million last summer.
However, the 20-year-old has had a disappointing first season in North London as he has found game time hard to come by.
While the England Under-21 international did get a few opportunities before the lockdown, he failed to play a single minute after the restart.
Reports indicate that Spurs are considering loaning Sessegnon back to Fulham next season after Scott Parker’s side won promotion to the Premier League through the playoffs (Telegraph).
It has been suggested that Jose Mourinho is happy to sell Danny Rose and use academy graduate, Dennis Cirkin as Ben Davies’ main understudy next season (Guardian).
While some Spurs fans insisted that was disrespectful to Sessegnon, others felt that a loan move could benefit the youngster:
Do it, perfect for both clubs and player

Send Ryan Sessegnon back out on loan to Fulham

Personally with Europa I’d be surprised if we let Sessegnon go on loan unless they intend to let Clarke hang around ??♂️

Fulham are one of the leading candidates to sign Ryan Sessegnon on loan following their promotion to the Premier League,
Personally I'd make him a regular starter for Tottenham at left wing back ? pic.twitter.com/A7BEtBiXvl

I would like to see Ryan Sessegnon stay at Spurs, but I think a loan for Oliver Skipp to Fulham would be brilliant move. #THFC #COYS https://t.co/3d7SZqQHnC

Fullham going up could be great for Sessegnon. Can see him going on loan there and returning in January with tons of confidence. Would obviously prefer him to stay and rip up the UEL instead but it could be a good move overall

If he’s not sure on sessegnon next year, we should loan him back to Fulham for a season. Let him flourish in familiar surroundings and see what he’s got. #COYS

Yesssss
Fulham get promoted then we can loan Sessegnon back to them
He will get regular premier league game time and we can recall him in the new year
Wanted Brentford to win but when I think about it this is better

I feel like the obvious thing for next season is to play Sessegnon as the attacking full back and put Tanganga/Foyth as the more defensive one. But maybe there's something in midfield that prevents that.

What's Ryan done wrong? We are wasting a real talent … he's going backwards sitting on the bench never getting on the pitch. I wonder if he's regretting coming to spurs?

Spurs Web Opinion
I see Sessegnon evolving into a left-back rather than as a winger or a wide forward. I suspect Jose also sees him as a wing-back but feels he has to improve defensively before he can be trusted in the position. I believe that a loan move to Fulham would be ideal for him as I cannot see the 20-year-old getting too many minutes at Spurs next season.
