It was not just the senior stars that were in action during the international break but some of Spurs’ youngsters also featured for their nation’s youth sides.

Both Oliver Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon were in action for England U-21 in a friendly against the Netherlands on Tuesday. While Skipp started the game and played all 90 minutes, Sessegnon came on has a second-half substitute.

Despite the Young Lions eventually falling to a 2-1 defeat on the night, Skipp’s display left a lot of people extremely impressed.

The individual highlights of the Spurs midfielder’s performance on Tuesday has been doing the rounds on social media and it is evident that the 19-year-old was the best player on the pitch.

Skipp was left out of Jose Mourinho’s first squad for the trip to West Ham yesterday afternoon after becoming somewhat of a regular as a replacement under Mauricio Pochetinno.

Mourinho did mention that he was impressed not just with the profile of the first-team squad but also the academy. So one hopes he has taken a close look at the various youngsters coming through. Hopefully, Skipp gets his opportunities to stake his claim in the side in the coming year or two.
