Watch the Betway NFL Challenge with Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur and the NFL have struck a close relationship since the Premier League side constructed their brand new state of the art stadium.

Back in 2015, it was announced that a 10-year partnership had been agreed for a minimum of two games per year to be played at the new stadium in north London.

The venue which boasts a dedicated NFL playing surface that sits underneath the grass pitch and fans got to witness their first match in the new surroundings back in 2019 when the Oakland Raiders snatched a last-gasp 24-21 win over the Chicago Bears.

Ahead of this year’s Super Bowl, Betway’s video with Tottenham first team stars Lucas Moura, Sergio Reguilón, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Ben Davies sit down to take on a three-round challenge to test just how much they know about the sport.

The game has continued to grow from strength to strength in the UK it was clear to see that Davies and Lucas certainly know their Tom Brady from their Aaron Donald with their impressive knowledge in this brilliant video.

Spanish international defender Sergio Reguilón’s attempt at trying to describe the Detroit Lions in a game of charades was hilarious and soon got into the groove with brilliant efforts of the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins.

There was also an opportunity for the players to attempt to decipher NFL jargon such as flea flicker and Hail Mary, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, especially giving a very creative explanation of a stiff arm. We’d certainly hope the Dane attends the upcoming NFL double-header this October to improve his knowledge!

The geography test of marking NFL team locations on a map of the USA where some of the teams are located was a closely-run affair with one side narrowly beating the other.

Even Tottenham and England’s star striker Harry Kane is known to be a huge New England Patriots fan and takes huge inspiration of how quarterback Tom Brady has risen from being an underdog having been drafted as the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft to being the poster boy of the sport, having experienced a similar rise to the top of his own profession.

Super Bowl LVI was an edge-of-the-seat spectacle which once again proved as to why the sport is fast becoming a favourite among sports fans in the UK and also within the Tottenham locker room.
