Watch Tottenham loanee Luka Vuskovic score his first goal for Hamburg

Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic marked a big moment in his young career at the weekend, scoring his first goal for Hamburg as the newly promoted side finally got off the mark in the Bundesliga.

Luka Vuskovic was sent out on loan by Tottenham Hotspur last summer as the club felt his development would be best served elsewhere.

Just last week, the Croatian made his Bundesliga debut for Hamburg, who are back in the German top flight after promotion; however, unfortunately for the teenager, it was not an occasion he will want to remember for long.

Hamburg came up against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, and the reigning champions were ruthless in their approach, cruising to a 5-0 victory over the promoted side.

Making amends was no doubt on the minds of Vuskovic and his teammates when they faced bottom-of-the-table FC Heidenheim.

There was an immediate performance improvement, and Hamburg finally registered their first win of the campaign, edging past Heidenheim 2-1 at the Volksparkstadion.

It was not only a significant result for the club, but it also proved a personal milestone for Vuskovic, who opened the scoring and registered his first goal for Hamburg.

The 18-year-old finished confidently inside the box after the ball fell kindly to him from a deflection, setting the hosts on course for victory.

Spurs fans already know Vuskovic has goals in him

Tottenham supporters will not be surprised to see Vuskovic finding the back of the net, as his ability to contribute in attack has been evident in recent seasons.

During his loan spell at Westerlo last year, the centre-back built a reputation for chipping in with goals, scoring seven times in the Belgian top flight.

That eye for goal was also on display during Spurs’ pre-season, as he scored and provided an assist in his first outing for the Lilywhites against Reading.
