‘We are all upset’ – Spurs player reacts following flat display against Brighton

Lucas Moura has revealed that the Tottenham Hotspur players were left disappointed by the manner of their defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Leandro Trossard’s 90th minute goal gave Brighton a deserved win that dealt a blow to Tottenham’s hopes of finishing in the top four of the Premier League.

Antonio Conte’s side offered little in way of a threat to Brighton with Yves Bissouma dominating the midfield and also helping to keep Harry Kane under wraps with the Spurs man unable to impact the game in his usual manner from deep.

Moura insists that Spurs cannot afford to take their foot off the gas and lose focus considering what is at stake.

Thankfully, north London rivals Arsenal suffered their third successive defeat at the weekend meant they were unable to close the gap, however, Manchester United have now crept back into the race for fourth.

He told LondonWorld: “Everyone in that dressing room was disappointed because we played very good games against Aston Villa and Newcastle and then we came home knowing very well that this game was very important.

“We are all upset and it’s going to be a very hard weekend but that is football and in the Premier League we can not drop our intensity and concentration and we did it today and we lost.”

Spurs make the trip across London next weekend when they face in-form Brentford in a match which Conte’s men must take all three points from, otherwise, their next slip up could prove to be much more costly.
