“We are extremely disappointed” – Spurs release statement after trio break COVID rules

Tottenham Hotspur have released a statement condemning the actions of three of their first team players after they were photographed breaking lockdown rules over Christmas.

Sergio Reguilon, Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso were all seen pictured in one house with 11 other adults, two children and a baby, which also included West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini.

Under guidelines set out by the government before Christmas, persons living in Tier 4 areas including London were not allowed to mix with anyone outside their own household at Christmas.

Tottenham have claimed that they will be dealing with the matter internally and are extremely disappointed with the actions of the trio.

The North London outfit insist that they regularly remind their players of the current guidelines and their responsibilities as role models.

Spurs take to the field against Leeds United in a Premier League clash within the next hour and will be hoping to do the talking on the pitch after this embarrassing incident.
