‘We are seeing’ – 31-year-old PL star claims Spurs are ‘making a good team’

Leeds United forward Rodrigo Moreno has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur have built a strong team following their active business in this summer transfer window.

Tottenham have made seven signings so far this summer, showing their intention to back Antonio Conte with a stronger and deeper squad.

Players like Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison have undoubtedly improved Spurs’ potential starting line-up, while Fraser Forster and Clement Lenglet add to the essential depth needed to compete across a full season with five substitutes in the Premier League.

Reinforcements like Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie are deemed ones for the future and could shine in the wing-back roles for years to come.

All in all, the north Londoners have been uncharacteristically proactive in this transfer window, supporting Conte not only with signings, but early signings.

Rodrigo name dropped Conte’s side among the clubs that are making an impact in the Premier League, while describing how the English top flight has been pulling ahead of the other leagues on the continent.

Speaking in an interview with AS, Rodrigo said: “The Premier League since COVID are making important differences compared to all the other leagues and in particular La Liga, which were the two main ones.

“We are seeing how big the signings have been again in England, like Haaland or Darwin, and there are many players from other leagues who come here. It’s not just United, City or Liverpool.

“You see Aston Villa with Coutinho and Diego Carlos, Tottenham making a good team, Leeds themselves, who have spent more than a hundred million in two years since promotion. Nottingham Forest, who have just been promoted, signed Lingard… That’s what leads to the Premier League being pretty attractive.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Previously, Michail Antonio of West Ham United also expressed how he believes Tottenham will do well under Conte (Footballer’s Football Podcast). If this sentiment is shared among multiple PL rivals, then Spurs have to be doing something right.

Conte’s team has certainly enjoyed a solid start to their season with their 4-1 victory over Southampton, 2-2 draw against Chelsea, and 1-0 win over Wolves, and will now look to continue building on that.
