‘We can beat any team’ – Pochettino on hopes of winning the Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur enter the first leg of their round of sixteen Champions League tie against Dortmund tomorrow night.

Spurs head into the match off the back of four straight Premier League wins, but with a depleted first team through injury.

The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose, Ben Davies, and Vincent Janssen will all be unavailable for the starting line up, leaving Pochettino with few options in some positions.

Borussia Dortmund are also flying high this season, currently sitting at the top of the table in the German League.

Spurs come into the two legs as underdogs for quarter final qualification, but if they can make it past this first leg, they should have a whole host of first team stars back for the return match in Germany.

Pochettino was asked today whether he believes his team can win the Champions League, to which he was adamant they could.

He said (Football London): “I believe I can win everything we play in. We know very well that the competition is going to be tough. We are going to face a team that is top of the table in the Bundesliga, is doing well and is a really competitive team. And of course it is going to be tough. But with all respect to our opponent, I am a person who always believes we can beat any team.”
