Some Spurs fans on social media are divided over whether Ousmane Dembele would be a good signing for Tottenham amid reports of the North London club’s interest in the Barcelona star.
Barcelona spent a whopping £135m to snap up Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 but the winger has struggled to show consistency in his four years at the Camp Nou.
90min reported last week that Barca are keen to extend the French international’s deal, with his current contract running out next summer.
However, it was explained that the Catalan giants are having a hard time meeting Dembele’s wage demands, with the player thought to be demanding a pay rise on his current agreement which is already worth in excess of £200,000-a-week.
The report added that ‘transfer options are piling up’ for the winger, with Spurs named as one of the clubs showing interest ahead of the January transfer window.
That report has garnered a mixed reaction from some Spurs fans on social media.
While some have urged the club to stay away from Dembele due to his injury issues and attitude problems, others have insisted that the 24-year-old could get a new lease of life away from Barca.
He’s literally a more offensive Ndombele . Lot of talent but attitude and fitness don’t look good

He'd be a good player but the injuries are just too much and the pl is physically demanding https://t.co/Cv9eJnyj37

if he’ll agree to a ~3 year deal on reasonable wages (maybe mostly performance based) i would absolutely take the punt on ousmane. it is of course easier to get these kinds of numbers on a bigger team but there’s clearly still a player here if you can keep him fit & motivated https://t.co/QWwizjysg9 pic.twitter.com/BOynk2qhTS

Spurs Web Opinion
Dembele’s quality is not in question. However, given the struggles Spurs have had in getting the best out of Ndombele, I am not sure if they would want to risk signing another mercurial talent with alleged attitude problems.
