‘We don’t need him’ – Some Spurs fans react to Luka Modric rumours

Some Spurs fans on social media are not bothered by reports stating that Luka Modric is not open to the idea of returning to Tottenham.

Modric’s current deal at Real Madrid runs out at the end of the season and SuperDeporte have claimed that Florentino Perez has been trying for weeks to get him to sign another extension.

However, the Los Blancos supremo has allegedly not made any progress as he is only thought to be willing to offer the former Spurs man a one-year extension while the player is demanding a two-year deal.

The report added that Modric could complete a free transfer to the Premier League at the end of the season if the parties are not able to agree on an extension.

However, it was explained that the 36-year-old is not open the idea of returning to Spurs or joining Newcastle United and instead wants to join Manchester City.

Despite being 36, Modric has continued to demonstrate over the last two years that he is still supremely fit. I would certainly take him at Spurs as he would add something to our midfield that we currently lack. 

However, I doubt if the Real Madrid man is on Paratici’s wishlist as the club will likely be looking at younger profile of players as they continue rebuilding the squad over the next few windows.
