‘We have failed’ – Spurs player says he would not begrudge Kane exit

Amidst the speculation surrounding Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham, Moussa Sissoko has admitted that the striker deserves to be competing for the biggest trophies in the game.

Kane’s admission to Gary Neville that he will have a conversation with Daniel Levy about potentially leaving the club this summer has left some convinced that the striker is on his way out of the club.

However, the ball still remains firmly in Tottenham’s court, with the striker having three years left to run on his contract.

Despite talks of big-money offers and potential swap deals for the 27-year-old, the likes of Fabrizio Romano have said that Tottenham maintain the striker is not for sale this summer.

It remains to be seen how the club’s new managerial appointment would affect Kane’s future but Sissoko certainly would not begrudge his teammate a move, with the Frenchman admitting that the striker is likely irked by the club’s failure to win trophies.

When asked about Kane’s future, the midfielder told Foot Mercato (as relayed by The Metro): “Like all players, he wants to win titles.

“A player of his stature deserves to win titles season after season. Sadly, we have failed to do so each time for various reasons. I think that this must irk him inside.

“He did not officially say that he wanted to leave the club. Harry is one of the best attackers in the world. Each year, he finishes as the top scorer in the Premier League or is among the best goalscorers in the league.

“He had an exceptional year because he finished as top scorer and top assister in the Premier League. I do not know if he will leave or not but if he ever did leave, I would wish him the best.

“He deserves to win titles with all that he has done. He is truly an extraordinary player. We would like to have him with us for as long as possible.

“Aside from that, it is all between the president, his agent and him but I simply wish him the best.”
