‘We have the data’ – Mourinho opens up on the progress he is seeing in Gareth Bale

It has already been announced that Gareth Bale will start the game against Royal Antwerp tomorrow night in the Europa League group stages.

Spurs flew to Belgium earlier today ahead of the Group J clash and the Welshman should come into the game well-rested from the weekend.

Bale was an unused substitute against Burnley at Turf Moor on Monday with Erik Lamela preferred as the attacking option off the bench on the night.

The Welsh winger last played in the Europa League last Thursday where he started against LASK and claimed an assist for the team’s second goal.

Jose Mourinho has now claimed that Bale is improving, both visually and via sports science date, following his return to North London from Real Madrid on loan.

The Spurs boss used the terms ‘Bale is arriving’ and ‘hopefully he can fly’ when talking to the media about the four-time Champions League winner today. Spurs fans will be hoping to see that in action tomorrow night.

Mourinho said (Dan Kilpatrick): “We have the data that Bale is arriving. It’s coming. I see can see with my own eyes but the scientific data is also [showing it]. Tomorrow we can see Gareth at a good level and hopefully he can fly.”
