Tottenham Hotspur tasted the highs in midweek after qualifying for the Champions League quarter finals.
Spurs travelled to Germany with a 3-0 lead over Borussia Dortmund, and managed to top it off with a 1-0 away victory to boot.
This was the first time Spurs had secured their spot in the draw since 2011 under Harry Redknapp, and looked sure to be a catalyst for improved League form.
However, the winless streak continued for the Lilywhites in their domestic league as the squandered a 1-0 half time lead to lose 2-1 to Southampton.
That’s 11 dropped points from their last four games for Tottenham, an alarming run of form heading into a crunch game against Liverpool.
This came after a pretty impressive first half against the Saints, after which the side completely took their foot off the pedal and gifted their hosts a win.
Pochettino now claims that his side has two faces after their European win but domestic loss.
He said (Football London): “It shows we need more. We need to increase everything if we want to arrive as one of the best clubs in Europe. There’s been a lot of talk about being in the last step, winning some trophies. We live in the perception and reality. This is the reality. We have two faces.”
