‘We need to keep fighting’ – Harry Kane reacts to Spurs 1-0 loss to AC Milan

Harry Kane has insisted that Tottenham’s Champions League campaign is far from over and that he and his teammates are ready to fight in the second leg.

As has been typical of Spurs for much of the season, they delivered a lacklustre display in the first leg at the San Siro, struggling to create too many clear-cut chances going forward through the 90 minutes.

The Tottenham backline was carved open in the 7th minute with Brahim Diaz opening the scoring for the home side after Fraser Forster parried Theo Hernandez’s shot onto the Spaniard’s path.

The Rossoneri went on to squander several opportunities to add to their lead and Stefan Pioli would be disappointed that his side failed to put the tie to bed.

Milan will now come to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the second leg on March 8 a goal to the good, and Kane took to social media to insist that the Lilywhites have not yet given up the fight.

He said: ‘Tough game away from home but we are only half way. We need to keep fighting all together. Thank you to all the fans that travelled!’

Spurs Web Opinion

The 1-0 loss is by no means a terrible result for Spurs, given our form and the players we were missing.

We only have to win the reverse leg by one goal to push the tie into extra time and based on the evidence of Milan’s performance yesterday, there is no reason to think we cannot beat them at home.
