‘We need to talk’ – CEO reveals Fiorentina have received no Vlahovic bids

Fiorentina’s Chief Executive Officer Joe Barone has admitted that the Serie A club are open to selling rumoured Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic.

The speculation linking Tottenham with a move for Vlahovic has gone into overdrive since Antonio Conte took over at the North London club (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Italian football agent Massimo Brambati claimed last week that Conte wants to pair the Serbian up front with Harry Kane at Spurs (TMW Radio via TuttoJuve).

It seems like Tottenham’s main competition for the Viola star is coming from their North London rivals, with Arsenal allegedly pushing to snap up the 21-year-old before the January window shuts (The Athletic’s David Ornstein).

However, according to 90 min, Vlahovic has doubts over whether joining Mikel Arteta’s side would be the right move for him.

Barone has now reiterated Fiorentina’s willingness to sell the centre-forward but he admitted that Vlahovic’s representatives are not being clear about the striker’s future plans.

The Fiorentina chief told DAZN (as relayed by Fabrizio Romano): “We’ve not received any official bid for Vlahovic as things stand.

“We’re open to discuss and negotiate – but we want Vlahovic and his agent to be clear on the future, as they’re not answering. We need to talk about it.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Fiorentina are understandably intent on selling Vlahavoic now since they want to get as high a fee for him as possible.

The striker’s value will drop considerably in the summer as he would only have 12 months left on his contract at the Artemio Franchi Stadium (Transfermarkt).

However, I get the feeling that Vlahovic would prefer to wait until the summer for a transfer as he would likely have a lot more options to choose from at the end of the season.
