‘We needed that’ – Kane, Moura, Reguilon and co react to win over Leeds United

Harry Kane, Lucas Moura, Japhet Tanganga and match-winner Sergio Reguilon have all taken to social media to express their delight at getting all three points against Leeds United.

Tottenham certainly did not have things their own way in Antonio Conte’s first Premier League game in charge at home as Leeds gave a very good account of themselves in the first-half.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men took a well-deserved lead through Dan James just before the interval.

However, the home side came out with much more intent in the second half and committed bodies forward.

They got their just reward when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg equalised just before the hour mark.

Conte’s men continued to push and got their deserved winner seven minutes later as Reguilon followed up Eric Dier’s deflected freekick which came off the woodwork.

Kane and Moura praised the atmosphere that Tottenham fans created at N17 while Reguilon expressed his joy at netting his first goal for the Lilywhites.

The three points were much needed to build some momentum and given the run of fixtures we have coming up, we now have a great opportunity to close the gap with the top four. The fact that we turned things around after a difficult first-half will also have boosted the players’ confidence.
