‘We spoke’ – Frankfurt manager provides update on future of Spurs-linked Filip Kostic

Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glaser has hinted that he expects rumoured Tottenham target Filip Kostic to remain at the club next season.

According to reports, Spurs are expected to be in the market for a left wing-back this summer, with the North London club expected to cash in on Sergio Reguilon (Football Insider).

Kostic, who has amassed 15 goals and seven assists for Frankfurt this season, is said to be one of the options on the Lilywhites’ radar (The Independent).

Antonio Conte is thought to be a fan of the Serbian, who can play as a wing-back or further forward, with the Italian allegedly having tried to previously take him to Inter Milan (Fichajes.net).

Kostic was one of the stars of the show for Frankfurt in their Europa League final against Rangers this week, with the Bundesliga club emerging as the winners in a penalty shoot-out.

Glaser revealed that he spoke to Kostic after the game and stated the Europa League final may not be the 29-year-old’s final game for the club.

He told Kicker (as relayed by Express) regarding the former Hamburg man: “He still has a year’s contract. We spoke on the field, but I won’t tell you what. I think that was not his last game.”

Spurs Web Opinion

While there are plenty of decent options to choose from for the right wing-back role, including Djed Spence, Wilfried Singo, Tariq Lamptey and Denzel Dumfries, there are not too many good left wing-backs around Europe. Kostic seems to be the one outstanding candidate for the role, which is why I do expect Spurs to push hard for the Serbian international this summer.
