At the beginning of the Premier League season is was all a bit deflated for Tottenham fans.
Everyone had been hoping for at least one or two new exciting faces around the dressing room, but instead, Poch and Levy opted to become early record breakers.
This wasn’t a record anyone particularly wanted though, the first Premier League side ever to fail to sign a single player in the summer transfer window.
The management team had tried and fail to sign the odd player, such as Jack Grealish, and opted to instead spend their money on new deals for their stars.
Pochettino, Davinson Sanchez, Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Erik Lamela, Dele Alli, Heung Min Son, Luke Amos, and more all penned new contracts.
It looked as if it would be a tough season without bulking out the squad, but instead it has been one of Tottenham’s biggest point hauls ever.
A settled squad, with the better late than never addition of Lucas Moura, seems to have given the side an edge.
While everyone else has spent time bedding in new players or giving coaches time to stamp their mark, Spurs have quietly gone about their business, and still have gears to go.
If they can continue the form they showed against Chelsea, anything could happen this year.
Who knows, if we see some silverware, maybe Eriksen and Alderweireld will sign their new deals too!
