“We won’t have problems” – Some Spurs fans react optimistically to Arsenal draw

Tottenham and Arsenal played out yet another North London Derby classic yesterday as both sides shared the spoils at the end of an all-action encounter.

There was a lot of negativity around Tottenham coming into the game following their defeat against Newcastle United last season but it was them who started the game on the front foot.

Pochettino’s men were repeatedly threatening the Arsenal defence on the counter in the first half and got their rewards as they raced into a 2-0 lead courtesy of a Christian Eriksen tap in and a Harry Kane spot-kick.

However, the home side got a goal back towards the end of the half which shifted the momentum their way. They then had the better of the second half proceedings and managed to level the game.

Both sides had chances to get the winner but a draw, in the end, was a fair reflection of the match. While Some Spurs fans were disappointed that the club let a two-goal lead slip, others were pleased with the encouraging signs they saw going forward.

Although it is disappointing not to get the win after being 2-0 up, I would have certainly taken a draw before the match. Given the negativity surrounding the club for the past week, we cannot have afforded another defeat. There were enough positives from that performance to be optimistic for the season.
