Cristian Romero has directly responded to the speculation linking him with an exit from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Speculation continues to run rife about Romero’s future, even though he only signed a new contract and became Spurs captain last summer.
The Argentine has publicly expressed his discontent with the Tottenham hierarchy’s decisions, and naturally, there have been suggestions that this could be his final year in North London.
Romero is reportedly of interest to some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and the centre-back has now directly responded to the rumours over his future.

Cristian Romero refuses to close the door on a Tottenham exit
Some outlets have suggested over recent weeks that Spurs are coming around to the idea of cashing in on Romero this summer.
The 27-year-old has now spoken about his fondness for the Lilywhites and insisted that he is focused on ensuring their Premier League survival, but he failed to commit his future to the club.
When asked about the speculation, Romero told Ole: “The truth is, I’m focused on the situation we’re in. I have a lot of respect and affection for the club, and I want to finish the season in the best way possible.”
When pressed on whether a summer move is a possibility, the World Cup winner said: “We’ll see later, but the most important thing now is to recharge.”
Diego Simeone has publicly expressed his admiration for Romero
Atletico Madrid are allegedly preparing to pounce on Romero if he becomes available in the summer after having their advances for the defender knocked back last summer.
Ahead of his side’s Champions League second leg clash against Tottenham earlier this week, Diego Simone publicly expressed his admiration for Romero as a player and as a person.
However, they are not the only ones eyeing the defender, with Real Madrid also credited with an interest in Romero, while it has been suggested that Barcelona are also considering a summer move for the Tottenham captain.
