‘We’ll talk about it’ – President of Serie A club speaks on Spurs target’s future

Torino President Urbano Cairo has refused to rule out the prospect of rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Gleison Bremer leaving the club next month.

Bremer has developed into one of the most promising centre-backs in Italian football since joining Torino from Atletico Minero back in 2018.

According to reports, Bremer is on Tottenham’s shopping list ahead of the January transfer window. Spurs managing director of football Fabio Paratici is alleged to be keen on bringing the 24-year-old to North London.

However, it is thought that Antonio Conte’s men could face competition from the likes of Napoli, Inter Milan and AC Milan for the defender.

In addition, it has emerged over recent weeks that Tottenham’s London rivals, West Ham and Chelsea are both eyeing a deal for Bremer.

Cairo has decided to keep his cards close to his chest regarding the centre-back but he refused to deny that the player could Turin next month.

When asked about the speculation over Bremer’s future, the Torino president told CalcioMercato: “Can Bremer leave Turin in January? Let’s see. We’ll talk about it at the right time.”

Cairo obviously cannot admit that Torino want to cash in on Bremer, especially if the Serie A club are in the middle of negotiating a fee with others. However, the fact that the Brazilian has just a year and a half left to run on his contract suggests that a January exit is likely.
