There has been plenty of talk in the build-up about the condition of the Wembley pitch ahead of tomorrow night’s game between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
Today, a photo of the playing surface at the national stadium surfaced ahead of the NFL match between the Philidelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars and it has certainly sparked concern.
The Wembley surface is a mixture of grass and artificial fibres, meaning it is more resilient than most and does not rip up dangerously in the way some others can do. However, this has not stopped the pitch from looking bare of grass through the middle of the playing area.
Thankfully, the weather during this afternoon’s American Football match has been dry otherwise it could have made the surface worse than what it already is.
The below photo was taken before the match.
