Radu Dragusin’s agent, Florin Maena has confirmed that the centre-back did turn down Bayern Munich’s approach in favour of a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
On Tuesday, it appeared as if Bayern Munich were about to hijack Tottenham’s move for Dragusin, with reports indicating that Genoa had also accepted the Bavarian club’s offer and let the 21-year-old decide where he wants to go (Gianluca Di Marzio).
Some Spurs fans were understandably fearing that it was going to be another case of the transfer being hijacked as a result of the Lilywhites waiting too long to get it over the line.
However, this morning, it emerged that the Romanian international had chosen to move to the North London side over the Bundesliga giants (Florian Plettenberg).
In fact, over the last few hours, we have seen footage of the 21-year-old boarding a flight from Genoa to London ahead of his medical at Hotspur Way (Sky Sports).

Dragusin’s agent, who has been quite vocal about his client’s future over the last month or so, has now admitted that he is still coming to terms with the decision to turn down Bayern.
Maena told Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu (as relayed by The Metro and Fabrizio Romano): “We can’t believe we turned down Bayern Munich. Radu had given his word to Spurs and chose to respect this. We’re all still mindblown a bit.”

The opportunity to play in the Premier League and the Ange factor might have played a part in Dragusin’s decision and the centre-back might have also felt that he had a better chance of getting game time at Spurs.
