‘We’re doing good things’ – Conte comments on Tottenham’s transfer window

Antonio Conte has claimed that Tottenham are doing good things in the summer transfer market, but will proceed with ‘common sense’.

Spurs have already introduced six new faces into the dressing room this summer in the form of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, and Djed Spence, all of whom featured in some capacity across pre-season.

However, Tottenham may not be done yet, as the Evening Standard revealed the club are continuing to look for sales, as well as searching for a potential new centre-back and creative midfielder.

The Lilywhites have also reportedly agreed a fee with Udinese for left-back Destiny Udogie, who would return to the Italian club on loan for the 2022/23 season (Calcio Mercato).

When asked about Tottenham’s transfer business, Conte revealed that using common sense and avoiding mistakes is important in order to improve the team and achieve big things.

He said (Football London): “For sure we are trying to do things with common sense. I know only this way. It’s not simple. You have to try to not make mistake, especially in the transfer window with the club. But I think we’re doing good things.

“If you want to fight for important achievements, then you have to work and work to improve in every moment to improve the club.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I expect Tottenham to make one or two new signings, as well as a fair few sales by the time the transfer window is done. But by getting the bulk of their business done early, they have really taken the pressure off in terms of finding deals.
