“We’re making history” – Spurs players react after progressing to CL semifinals

It was a great day for Tottenham Hotspur as the club progressed to the semifinals of the Champions League for the first time in recent history.

Tottenham went into the second leg at the Etihad Stadium, a goal to the good but lost their lead soon after kickoff as Raheem Sterling opened the scoring within five minutes.

Spurs then responded with a quickfire brace from Son Heung-Min, only for City to hit back with goals from Bernado Silva and another one from Raheem Sterling, to go into the half-time break 3-2 up.

City took the lead in the tie for the first time after Sergio Aguero made it 4 but Fernando Llorente pulled one back for Tottenham, to put them ahead on away goals.

The hosts thought they had won the tie late on as they celebrated a stoppage-time winner from Raheem Sterling but the goal was chopped off by the VAR as Sergio Aguero was deemed to have been in an offside position.

The final whistle was met with massive celebrations from the players and the fans.

Here’s how Spurs players reacted on social media to the result:
