West Ham coach mocks Spurs after Sheffield United defeat despite relegation battle

West Ham youth coach Zavon Hines has poked fun at Tottenham following their 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United on Thursday.

The result was an extremely disappointing one for Jose Mourinho’s men and has all but ended any hopes of qualifying for the top four.

Spurs were found wanting both defensively and going forward as they came up against a side that were more resolute and aggressive across the pitch.

Jose Mourinho reserved a lot of praise for Chris Wilder’s side, while being critical of his players for not being mentally stronger after Harry Kane’s equaliser was ruled out (Football.London).

Tottenham’s defeat against the Blades came just a day after West Ham had beaten Chelsea 3-2 at the London Stadium.

The Hammers’ win over Chelsea gave Spurs a lifeline in the race for the Champions League spots but the Lilewhites were unable to take advantage of the result.

Hines could not hide his delight at Tottenham’s defeat on Thursday:

You would think West Ham fans would have bigger concerns than Tottenham’s results given that they are fighting for their lives down at the bottom. Let’s hope the likes of Bournemouth and Aston Villa turn their form around and send the Hammers back to where they belong, the Championship.
