West Ham legend claims Christian Eriksen will be a problem for Inter Milan

Former West Ham United midfielder Paolo Di Canio has launched a scathing attack on Christian Eriksen.

The midfielder brought an end to his six-and-a-half-year spell in north London in January when he completed a £17million transfer to Inter Milan (Goal).

Eriksen was a firm fan favourite at Tottenham until he suffered a significant downturn in his performance from the beginning of 2019.

He also frustrated supporters further when he declared just days after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool that he wanted to seek a new challenge away from the club whilst also inviting interest from Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

The Dane was once again not at his best in Inter’s 2-0 defeat at Juventus yesterday afternoon when he came off the bench in the 59th minute to replace Nicolo Barella.

He struggled to make an impact in the match and gave away possession on more than one occasion which left Di Canio suggesting that the former Spurs player will become a problem for Iner boss Antonio Conte.

He told the Sky Sport Club show on Sky Italia on 8/3/20 as quoted by the Daily Mail: ‘Eriksen will become a problem for Conte,’

‘He is not like Diego Costa, with whom you can fight if you don’t let him play.

‘He is a guy like Hazard: he is silent, you don’t see him much, he never complains, but it is difficult to have a direct and frank confrontation with Eriksen in Tottenham had the chance to lose dangerous balls because there were those who ran for him, at Inter they can’t afford breaks.

‘He doesn’t jump the opponent in one to one fight, he doesn’t have speed in his legs’.
