West Ham legend claims this Spurs forward will likely leave North London next summer

West Ham United legend, Paul Cottee, has now claimed that Harry Kane will likely leave Tottenham next summer.

Kane has been at Spurs since 2004 when he joined the academy system, playing his way throughout the youth ranks until he was granted a first-team opportunity.

Since then, the 26-year-old has never looked back, racking up 278 appearances and 181 goals for his boyhood club across nine seasons (Wikipedia).

The England captain recently revealed in an Instagram live interview with Jamie Redknapp that he would not remain at Tottenham for the sake of it, only if the club continued to progress.

Although Spurs made the Champions League Final last season, the club have not won a single piece of silverware in Kane’s time in the senior squad.

Tony Cottee has now claimed that Kane will want a taste of a Premier League or Champions League win before his career ends, something the former West Ham man can’t see him achieving at Tottenham.

Cottee said (Sky Sports): “I think there will come a time when he says ‘I’ve done as much as I can, I’ve scored lots of goals for Spurs but for many, many reasons it’s not happened’.

“Everything is in place there. They’ve got a great stadium, great club, great fans etc. but they haven’t won anything.

“That’s what Harry will want to taste before he finishes his career. You want that feeling of winning the Premier League or Champions League and at the moment I can’t see him doing that at Spurs.

“I think it’s inevitable, if it doesn’t happen in the next year or so, I think Harry will leave – probably next summer.”
