West Ham United forward Michail Antonio takes cheeky dig at rivals Spurs

West Ham United star, Michail Antonio, has taken a cheeky dig at London rivals Spurs by revealing that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is his favourite away ground in the Premier League as he created history there last season.

Tottenham’s 62,303-capacity stadium opened towards the end of the 2018/19 season and Spurs posted some impressive results in the first month.

They won all of their first four Premier League games at the stadium without conceding a single goal before they took on the Hammers.

However, West Ham caused an upset in late April as Antonio’s first-half strike gave them a 1-0 victory in the derby.

The 30-year-old thus went down in the history books as the first player to score against Spurs at the stadium while the Hammers became the first Premier League side to win at the ground.

The West Ham winger didn’t miss out on the opportunity to remind fans of what happened around a year ago.

When asked by West Ham’s official website to name his favourite away ground in the Premier League, Antonio said: “The new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, because I’m in the history books there.”
