‘What a great joy’ – Spurs star reacts after international trophy success

Giovani Lo Ceslo has taken to social media to reveal his delight at creating history by winning the Copa America with Argentina.

While one Tottenham star in Harry Kane suffered heartbreak over the weekend after England lost to Italy on penalties in the European Championship final, the emotions could not be any different for Lo Celso.

The midfielder was a key player for La Albiceleste through the tournament as they beat rivals Brazil 1-0 in the final on Saturday to end the nation’s 28-year wait for a major trophy.

Lo Celso was understandably all smiles as he posed with the Copa America trophy after creating history with his teammates.

The 25-year-old will now go on a short holiday before linking up with the rest of the Spurs squad at Hotspur Way for pre-season.

Lo Celso will be hoping to carry his impressive international form into next season and establish himself as a key player under Nuno Espirito Santo.

I can potentially see Lo Celso thriving in Nuno’s system as the Argentine has the engine and tenacity to cope with the Portuguese coach’s demanding style of play. The former Real Betis man is also very effective in transitions which is why I would not be surprised if he goes on to become an important player under the 47-year-old next season.
