‘What a horrible half’ – Some fans on Spurs’ first half performance against Southampton

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media with their thoughts on the first-half performance they have witnessed against Southampton this afternoon with their side level at 1-1.

Tottenham were slow to get to grips with the game and had their first opportunity on fourteen minutes when Heung-min Son’s free-kick was met by the head of the returning Ben Davies, only for the Welshman to see his effort chalked off by an offside decision from the assistant referee.

Antonio Conte’s side have struggled to get out and play through the middle of the Saints, who have pressed the visitors well.

Southampton broke the deadlock on 24 minutes when James Ward-Prowse cut across the ball to bend it beyond Hugo Lloris into the corner of the net from inside of the penalty area.

Harry Kane’s first attempt on goal came in the 28th minute but saw his 30-yard free-kick comfortably saved by Fraser Forster but did manage to pull his side level from the penalty spot five minutes before the break.

Here is a selection of reaction from some fellow Spurs fans on the opening forty-five minutes of festive action on the south coast.
