“What a player!” – Former PL manager raves about Spurs target

David Brooks has had a sensational season so far after moving to Bournemouth from Sheffield United for a fee of £11.5 million last summer.

The 21-year-old has who was a relatively unknown quantity until last season has put in some great performances for the Cherries and proved that he is more than good enough for Premier League football.

The Welsh international has already scored 6 goals and assisted four others this season. Brooks is said to be attracting the interest of some of the League’s biggest clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham, with Spurs said to be preparing a £50million summer bid for the midfielder. Former Blackpool and Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has raved about the 21-year-old’s performances for Bournemouth this season.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Holloway said, “David Brooks, who was signed for Bournemouth. Played against Chelsea the other week. Absolutely outstanding. The kid has been fantastic. What a player!”

While Brooks certainly fits the profile of a Pochettino signing being a young player with a lot of potential, his price is likely to go up substantially if he keeps playing the way he is.
