‘What Conte might agree to’ – Report provides update on Spurs severance package

The Daily Mail have indicated that it may not be as simple as Daniel Levy flicking to switch to sack Antonio Conte this week in North London.

With the Italian on a £15m-per-year contract at Spurs, Conte would be due around £4m in compensation for the final three months of his deal – which does not include the payment for his staff.

The Mail report that discussions have been held at Tottenham about potential severance package options, although there is no indication as to what Conte himself will agree to.

The 12-month extension clause inserted into Conte’s contract was not an obligation and is not thought to impact the severance package or money owed.

If the former Chelsea boss agrees to the terms put in front of him by Daniel Levy and co then his exit could be ‘swift’ this week as Spurs look to bounce back and make a push for the top four.

Spurs Web Opinion:

You would assume there will be a little bit of back and forth between both parties haggling over some of the finer costs, but I expect the process to be quite fast if Spurs do really want him out.
