What happens to Spurs if Arsenal win the Europa League?

Tottenham Hotspur fans may be celebrating Arsenal effectively handing them a top-four spot this evening, but many will be asking what happens if the Gunners are to win the Europa League.

Arsenal are in a commanding position in their Europa League semi-final against Valencia, after beating the Spanish side 3-1 at home in the first leg.

Providing they avoid disaster this week in the away match, Arsenal should qualify for the final of the competition, where they will likely face fellow Prem side, Chelsea.

However, Arsenal are now almost guaranteed to miss out on the top four in the Premier League, as they sit three points and eight-goal difference behind Spurs in fourth.

As everyone knows, the top four in the Premier League are all granted immediate qualification to the Champions League group stages, but will that change if Arsenal win the Europa League?

Many Spurs fans may remember the year they finished in fourth and Chelsea stole their Champions League spot by winning the top European title.

However, as five English clubs may now qualify for the group stages, (Premier League) an Arsenal win in the Europa League will not change Tottenham’s qualification.
