What has Radu Dragusin’s disciplinary record has been like in Italy?

Tottenham fans will be delighted to know that Radu Dragusin has an excellent disciplinary record, having never been sent off in nearly 150 senior matches so far.

There have understandably already been a lot of parallels drawn between Dragusin and Cristian Romero, with both players having a similar career trajectory.

Like the Argentine, the Romanian also struggled to get much of a look in at Juventus and to leave Turin to prove himself before coming to Tottenham’s attention.

The similarities do not end there as the 21-year-old, just like the Spurs vice-captain, is an aggressive defender, who enjoys the physical side of the game and is not shy of putting in crunching tackles.

That might perhaps raise some concerns among Spurs fans as Romero tends to sometimes cross the line, with the 25-year-old being no stranger to yellow cards and sending-offs.

Dragusin’s disciplinary record in Serie A

However, Tottenham fans have nothing to worry about if their recruit’s disciplinary record in the Serie A is anything to go by.

According to Transfermarkt, Dragsin has received just 11 cautions in 145 matches and has never been red-carded during his time in Italy.

This suggests that despite his aggression and hard-tackling, the Romanian international remains composed and knows how to toe the line.

There will likely be a steep learning curve for Dragusin in his first few months at Spurs. He might give away fouls and pick up bookings as he gets used to the intensity and pace of the Premier League. However, overall, the numbers paint a picture of someone with a calm head on his shoulders.
